No doubt you’ve heard the news about the HomeBuilder Package, but in case you haven’t, the Federal Government announced that the $25,000 HomeBuilder grant will be offered to Australian’s looking to either build a new home or renovate. The good news kept coming with the WA Government announcing an additional $20,000 Building Bonus for eligible homebuyers.
To be eligible for the HomeBuilder Package, construction must commence (significant earthworks, excavations or physical building works) within 3 months of the contract date, from now until the 31 December 2020 and within 6 months of the contract date for the Building Bonus grant:

. Build a new home as a principal place of residence on new land, where the property value (house and land) does not exceed $750,000;
. Build a new home as a knock down rebuild renovation project, where the value of the existing property (house and land) does not exceed $1.5 million pre-renovation;
. Purchase a yet to be commenced new home ‘off the plan’ that does not exceed $750,000,. or
. Substantially renovate an existing home as a principal place of residence, where the Contract is between $150,000 and $750,000, and where the value of the existing property (house and land) does not exceed $1.5 million pre-renovation.

Together the State and Federal grants mean new homebuyers who meet the income criteria could receive up to $69,440 in Government assistance:
. $25k Homebuilder grant – Federal grant available*
. $20k Building boost – WA State Government grant available
. $10k First home owner grant – WA State Government grant available
. First home buyers stamp duty concession
